Julie Maloney Midsummer Classics Skills Competition at Wilson Park

Wickford Little League hosts Julie Maloney Midsummer Classic Skills Competition, Saturday, May 31, 2014 2:00pm at Wilson
Park
 (Rain Date Sunday June 1)



Baseball players from
all area towns from AA, AAA, and Majors ages 7-12 are invited to participate. Fee
is $10/player and all proceeds go to Dana Farber Cancer Institute.



Julie Swistak Maloney of Saunderstown passed away on March
17, 2014. Julie had a passion for baseball including the Red Sox but most
important to her was watching her children play, develop their skills and enjoy
the game she loved in Wickford Little League. In her honor, Wickford Little
League is hosting this skills competition.

Competition will include throwing, bunting, hitting,
pitching and running. 



There will also be a Dunk Tank where players can enjoy
dunking their favorite little league coach as well as Coach Joe Gilmartin, NK
Head Football Coach; Coach Kevin Gormley, NK Head Baseball Coach and Coach Mark
Halloran, Wickford Middle School Baseball Coach. Wilson Park concession stand
will be open for this event, and there will also be a 50/50 raffle with
proceeds going to Dana Farber Cancer Institute.
