Lafayette Band Season Opener set for Wed., June 20

Free concert at the NK Library, 100 Boone St.

The Lafayette Band of North Kingstown will open its 2018 summer concert series on Wed., June 20, at 6:30 p.m. at the North Kingstown Free Library, 100 Boone St. The program will feature patriotic and classical music, show tunes, marches and more. Audience members are encouraged to bring lawn chairs and blankets for seating.

Led by conductor Bethany Clarke Bromley, the Lafayette Band is a nonprofit community concert band with a mission to strengthen North Kingstown and surrounding communities through music. Founded more than 130 years ago, it is one of the oldest bands in Rhode Island. Though based in North Kingstown, the band’s members reside in many communities in Southeast New England.
