Lafayette Band's next concert scheduled for Wednesday, July 28

Free performance begins at 7 p.m. The concert is dependent on good weather and may be canceled on short notice.

The Lafayette Band's next free concert is scheduled for Wednesday, July 28, at the North Kingstown Town Beach, 10 Beach St., Wickford. Bethany Clarke Bromley will direct the band in a spirited program of old favorites and new hits.

Audience members should bring lawn chairs and blankets for seating. Admission is free. The concert is dependent on good weather and may be canceled on short notice. There is no rain date.

The band has one more Wednesday night concert scheduled this summer: August 4, 6:30 p.m., at the North Kingstown Free Library.

The Lafayette Band is a nonprofit community concert band with a mission to strengthen North Kingstown and surrounding communities through music. Founded more than 135 years ago, it is one of the oldest bands in Rhode Island. Though based in North Kingstown, the band's members reside in many communities in Southeast New England.
