Letter to the Editor: Committee Chair Reacts to Thompson Departure

Letter to the editor,

I recently learned that from the North Kingstown School Committee. 

In the brief time I served on the committee with Joe, he went above and beyond his duty to attend multiple school functions at the elementary, middle and high school.  He was an active volunteer at Science Olympiad team and eager to watch our various high school sports teams.  He enjoyed a lunch at and plays and concerts at the high school. 

Joe threw himself into his elected position with enthusiasm and creativity.  While Joe did not agree with my opinion on how to best serve the people of North Kingstown, he came at the job for the right reasons.  I wish him well as he and his wife move closer to their family in North Carolina.
