Man Clocked at 100 mph on Route 4 Gets DUI Charge
Police said the 27-year-old also drove 70 mph through a 40 mph work zone.

A 27-year-old North Attleboro man was charged with driving under the influence last week after he was clocked driving 100 mph in a 55 mph zone on Route 4 and found to be drunk once stopped, police said.
North Kingstown police arrested Dallas Higgins, of North Attleboro, Mass., at round 1:30 a.m. on Sept. 17 after an East Greenwich police officer saw Higgins drive by at a high rate of speed between exits No. 7 and 8.
Further down the highway, another officer from East Greenwich working a traffic detail where crews were working on a highway resurfacing project saw Higgins drive by at an estimated 70 mph in a 40 mph zone.

Higgins was stopped by police a short distance later and showed signs of intoxication, police said.
He failed a field sobriety test and was taken into custody without incident.

Higgins was arraigned and released the next morning on personal recognizance after appearing in Third Division District Court. He is due to return to court on Oct. 6 for a pretrial conference.
