UPDATE: Man Killed In Quonset Industrial Accident

Andrew Pelletier, 26, of Glocester, was killed in an apparent industrial accident yesterday in Quonset.

A 26-year-old man is dead following an apparent industrial accident in Quonset Business Park Tuesday morning.

Andrew Pelletier, 26, of Glocester, was pronounced dead at the scene by the North Kingstown Fire Department. The accident occurred Tuesday morning shortly before 11:30 a.m. at Composite Rigging in the Davisville area of the business park.

According to North Kingstown Fire Chief Fenwick Gardiner Jr., a piece of equipment that was under tension broke away and struck Pelletier in the head.

The North Kingstown Police Departnemt, Occupational Safety & Health Administration (OSHA) and the Rhode Island Medical Examiner's office are all investigating the incident.

According to Patrick Griffin of OSHA, they expect to have more information or a final report within 60 days.
