NK Man Indicted on Four Rape Counts
The Statewide Grand Jury reported out the indictment Wednesday.

A 28-year-old North Kingstown man arrested in July for allegedly beating and raping a woman he met at a Narragansett bar has been indicted by the Statewide Grand Jury on charges of rape, assault with a dangerous weapon and simple assault.
Christopher Forlasto was indicted by the grand jury today and charged with a total of four counts of first-degree sexual assault, two counts of simple assault and one count of assault with a dangerous weapon, announced Attorney General Peter F. Kilmartin.
At the time of his arrest, North Kingstown police said Forlasto met the victim at George’s of Galilee and they went to a second bar before he drove her to his house where he assaulted her.

The victim was treated at the University of Massachusetts Memorial Medical Center in Worcester, Mass.
Narragansett and North Kingstown detectives collaborated on the investigation.

Forlasto remains held without bail and is due to be arraigned in Washington County Superior Court on Oct. 9.
