"We are looking to analyze this information and see if there's any correlation between the breaks down on Shermantown Road," said Lt. Chris Emerson of the North Kingstown Police Department.
Last week, a house on Polo Drive and another on Fieldstone Lane – two streets at near opposite ends of Shermantown Road – were broken into. Residents reported seeing a man and a woman driving in a dark-colored SUV. North Kingstown police began to jointly investigate the incidents with local departments and agencies, which "seamlessly rolled" into Wednesday's arrests.
Grasso is facing two counts of breaking and entering, two counts of receiving stolen goods, one felony count of possession of marijuana and one count of possession of burglary tools from the North Kingstown Police Department. He is expected to be charged with breaking and entering charges from South Kingstown, East Greenwich and West Warwick, as well.
Colaluca was arrested on a Superior Court bench warrant and later charged by West Warwick for conspiracy to commit breaking and entering.
The duo was arraigned in Third District Court on Nov. 17. Both are currently being held at the Adult Correctional Institute.
