Dementia Patient's Friend Reportedly Harasses Care Providers
Health care providers for a 83-year-old dementia patient from North Kingstown contacted police after the man’s friend allegedly accused the providers of wrong-doing. According to an employee from A Peace of Mind Home Health Care, the man’s 65-year-old friend told the patient over the phone that his care providers were trying to poison him and that they should be servicing him sexually, among other untrue statements about his care.
The employee added that, the day prior, one of her colleagues (who has a Caribbean accent) had a conversation with the man over the phone in which he told her to “go back to Africa,” which “upset her a great deal.”
