Woman Reportedly Breaks Two Planters During Domestic Dispute
Lori Denise DiMezza, 45, of 9 Jillson St. in Providence, was arrested May 20 at 9:35 p.m. on charges of domestic vandalism, disorderly conduct and simple assault.
DiMezza called 911 and claimed she was assaulted by a 62-year-old man. After speaking with DiMezza and the man, police determined that DiMezza had been the primary aggressor.
According to the man, DiMezza left the residence around 8 a.m. and returned 15 minutes later, breaking through the dead-bolted door and entering the house. The man claimed that DiMezza flipped over the coffee table and began throwing items, tossing a chair into the refrigerator and damaging it. The man then tried to escort her out of the house, at which point DiMezza allegedly knocked over two planters and kicked chairs off the porch. According to police, DiMezza appeared to be under the influence of alcohol when they arrived.
Police brought DiMezza to headquarters and asked if she wanted to make a phone call. According to officers, DiMezza wanted to call the man whose house she vandalized. When officers told her she could not do that, DiMezza allegedly grabbed her cell phone (which was off and being inventoried) and began screaming into it before throwing it across the room at an officer. (According to reports, DiMezza will be charged with an assault charge for throwing her phone at the officer.)
