Jameel A. Dudley, 22, of 512 Davisville Rd. in North Kingstown was arrested June 28 at 2:55 a.m. on charges of assault and two counts of disorderly conduct.

Police responded to the area of the playground on Devils Food Road after receiving numerous calls or a “crowd outside screaming and fighting.” When officers arrived, they allegedly found a shirtless Dudley standing near the apartment complex. According to reports, Dudley refused to comply with police’s orders to sit on the ground and “aggressively” moved toward them with clenched fists.

According to Dudley’s mother, who was also at the scene, the 22-year-old arrived at her apartment across the street and appeared to be highly intoxicated. After he used the bathroom and left the apartment, his mother told police she followed him out of concern. According to reports, Dudley’s mother was repeatedly telling him to listen to police during the altercation.

During his transport to headquarters, Dudley allegedly continued to yell loudly and stated he had a “blue card and a gun” at his residence. He allegedly told officers he “can’t wait” until he sees police personnel “without that badge on.”

DUI Suspect Had Children in Car

Amando W. Salazar, 38, of 167 Huasdon St. in Providence was arrested June 27 at 10:25 p.m. on charges of drunken driving and refusing to submit to a chemical test.

Police pulled Salazar over after witnesses reported that his car had stopped in the middle of Post Road near Engine Food Lane and after police allegedly saw him fail to use a turn signal.

According to reports, Salazar appeared to be under the influence but initially denied having any alcohol that evening. (He would allegedly later admit to having one beer earlier that night). Salazar’s three children (ages ranging from one to 11 years old) were also in the car during the time of the incident. Salazar allegedly told police he was picking up his girlfriend in North Kingstown at “The Fish Company.”

After allegedly failing his field sobriety test, Salazar’s blood alcohol content measured at .158 (almost double the legal limit) in a preliminary breath test. Salazar’s boss allegedly picked up the children after Salazar was brought to headquarters.

He is scheduled to be arraigned in Third District Court on July 10.
