Man Allegedly Assaults 57-Year-Old Familiy Member

Jeffrey J. Bouchard, 25, of 1600 Boston Neck Rd. in Saunderstown was arrested May 30 at 1:24 p.m. on charges of domestic assault and domestic disorderly conduct.

Bouchard allegedly shoved a 57-year-old family member who was trying to enter his home. According to Bouchard’s statements, he asked the woman to leave several times before pushing her out the door.

He is scheduled for arraignment in Third District Court on June 12.

Sex Offender Fails to Update Address

Ronald Leo Chabot, 44, of 6101 Post Rd., Apt. L92 in North Kingstown was arrested May 30 at 2 p.m. on felony charges for failing to update his address with the State Sex Offender Registry.

During unannounced home visits, a North Kingstown detective discovered that Chabot had changed residences without notifying the state’s sex offender registry. (The detective, who tracks and manages sex offenders living in town, recognized Chabot from prior contacts.) According to reports, Chabot pleaded nolo contender in 1997 to charges of second-degree child molestation.

He is scheduled for arraignment in Third District Court on July 3.

DUI Suspect Drank 'One Wines' 

Carolyn C. Mellors, 27, of 4 Eden Park Dr. in Cranston was arrested June 1 at 8:46 p.m. on charges of drunken driving and refusing to submit to take a chemical test.

Police received a bulletin of a possible intoxicated driver on Boston Neck Road near Casey Farm. According to another motorist, Mellors’ car kept drifting out of the lane of travel and nearly hit another car. Police intercepted Mellors as she pulled into the Shell Station on Ten Rod Road. By the time officer got to Mellors’ car, they found she was already allegedly passed out, slumped over the center console.

According to police, Mellors appeared to be “extremely groggy,” smelled of alcohol and was severely mumbling. Mellors allegedly told police she had “one wines” that night. Mellors allegedly refused to do a field sobriety test and was brought to the North Kingstown Police Department on suspicion of driving under the influence. At headquarters, Mellors also refused to take a Breathalyzer test.

Terrin L. Edgar, 28, of 361 Hog Househill Rd. in Exeter was arrested May 31 at 1 a.m. following a bench warrant for her arrest.
