NK Police Log: DUI Suspect Drove on Flat Tire

Alleged Intoxicated Driver Drove on Flat Tire
Stephen Hamilton Rudis, 43, of 1081 Lafayette Road in North Kingstown, was arrested June 2 at 4:25 p.m. on charges of drunken driving and driving without a license.
Police received a bulletin of a possible intoxicated driver. As an officer followed, Rudis swerved erratically in and out of the lane and even into the opposite lane on Lafayette Road. Later, the officer noticed that one of Rudis’ tires was completely deflated. (Later, Rudis would reportedly tell the officer he was unaware of the flat tire and did not know how it had happened.)

Rudis allegedly appeared to be lethargic and told the officer he was returning from his work at Sonoma Pub, and had been drinking that night. When asked to step out of the car, Rudis reportedly stared at the door for 10 seconds before reaching over and hitting it, but not opening it. Eventually, Rudis found the handle and opened the door, almost falling down, according to reports.
Rudis was brought to the North Kingstown Police Department, where he allegedly refused to take a field sobriety test and a Breathalyzer test.

Exeter Woman Charged With Pot Possession
Patricia Jo-Ann Cutler, 41, of 480 South County Trail in Exeter, was arrested June 2 at 10:46 p.m. on charges of possession of marijuana.
East Greenwich police put out a bulletin for Cutler’s vehicle after she was suspected of stealing a cell phone from a man at the , a bar in East Greenwich. When North Kingstown police pulled Cutler over on Post Road at Wickford Lanes, Cutler allegedly got out of her car and started to walk toward officers. According to reports, she appeared to be under the influence. Later, Cutler would pass her field sobriety tests at the scene.
Cutler reportedly told officers that she knew nothing of the cell phone incident. Officers allegedly found several cell phones in her car after a search. During a pat down, Cutler allegedly told officers she had “weed” on her and was found carrying a bag filled with marijuana in her front pocket — along with a cell phone case that also had marijuana inside it.
East Greenwich police arrived shortly after and determined that none of the cell phones was the one that was reportedly stolen from the bar.
Underage Party Lands One NK Man in Handcuffs
Alexander J. Anusavice, 20, of 229 Potter Road in North Kingstown, was arrested June 3 at 12:45 a.m. on charges of providing alcohol for minors, under the social host law.
According to reports, Anusavice held a party at his residence and supplied alcohol to a number of underage friends — including his teenage brothers. Police arrived at the home after receiving calls of a loud party. According to reports, officers saw several people running from the home toward Potter Road when they arrived.
Officers also allegedly located several groups of juveniles hiding throughout the house who also admitted to drinking alcohol. One minor was allegedly so intoxicated that he was found passed out in a bed in the basement. Police notified Anusavice’s mother, who told police the home belongs to her ex-husband who is currently in jail.
Anusavice is scheduled for arraignment in Third District Court on June 19.

Aaron Michael Baker, 30, of 445 Boston Neck Road in North Kingstown, was arrested June 3 at 2:30 p.m. on charges driving with a suspended license.
Daniel Pierre Terry, 33, of 13 State Street., Apt. E in North Kingstown, was arrested June 3 at 1:43 a.m. following a warrant for his arrest.
David Lionel Beauchaine, 60, of 167 Pig Hill Road in Greene, was arrested June 2 at 9 p.m. on charges of driving with a suspended license. He is scheduled for arraignment in Third District Court on June 19.
