NK Police Log: DUI Suspect Had 'Enough' to Drink

NK Man Charged With Stealing From Little Tree Nursery
Glenn Paul Gadrow, 49, of North Kingstown was arrested Sept. 26 t 5 p.m. on charges of larceny and willful trespass.
Employees at Little Tree Nursery allegedly saw Gadrow stealing multiple potted plants, bushes, a weed wacker, a sprinkler, a sun dial and other assorted items (totaling $996) from the property. According to reports, Gadrow was seen then leaving the area with the plants and items and hiding them behind Nailz Salon down the road. Police discovered that Gadrow had been doing some work at Don’s Mowers. When officers confronted him, Gadrow allegedly admitted to them that he had stolen the items. Gadrow allegedly added, “I was short on money. I screwed up.”

NK Man Charged With DUI
Warren Frederick Leach III, 30, of 40 Web Ave., Apt. 210 in North Kingstown was arrested Sept. 27 at 12:11 a.m. on charges of driving under the influence and refusing to submit to a chemical test.

Police pulled Leach over after he allegedly turned on to Post Road and began travelling south in the northbound lane. According to reports, Leach was also speeding (travelling 57 mph in a 35-mph zone).
Police pulled Leach over and as an officer walked up to Leach’s truck, Leach began to blow his cigarette smoke at the window in the officer’s direction. When the officer asked Leach if he had been drinking, Leach allegedly told him, “Enough.” According to Leach, he had five pints of Miller Light at Gillian’s Ale House that night. According to police, Leach kept saying, “Don’t do this to me, man. Just follow me home.” He also told the officer, “You rookies don’t have hearts.” Leach allegedly failed his field sobriety test and refused to take both a preliminary breath test and Breathalyzer at the police station.

Krystle-Ann Kathleen Carpenter, 24, of 215 Annaquatucket Rd. in North Kingstown was arrested Sept. 26 at 2:27 p.m. on charges of driving with a suspended license.
Jameel A. Dudley, 22, of 512 Davisville Rd. in North Kingstown was arrested Sept. 28 at 11:08 a.m. following a bench warrant for his arrest.
