NK Police Log: Excessive Amount Of Buttocks & A Marijuana False Alarm

Police received a complaint last Saturday morning of a white male, about 45 to 50 years old, bending over and vacuuming his Cadillac with a “large amount of buttocks showing.” When police arrived, they did not see the car or the person in question.

Multiple Mailboxes Vandalized In North End of Town

Last Saturday morning, police responded to North Quidnessett Road for a reported mailbox vandalism. While searching the area, officers found four additional mailboxes in the area (two more on North Quidnessett and another two on Fletcher Road) had been vandalized. According to reports, it appears the culprits used rocks to cause the damage.

Woman Charged With Domestic Assault, Disorderly Conduct

Kaitlyn Rose Wendt, 22, of 37 Saratoga Road, was arrested July 24 at 4 p.m. on charges of domestic assault and disorderly conduct.

According to police, Wendt became upset after her car wouldn’t start. Inside the home, Wendt allegedly began throwing objects and hit a man with a snow globe. She was released on $1,000 personal recognizance.

She is set to appear in Fourth District Court on Aug. 16.

 

A Different Kind of Weed

Last Monday, police responded to a home on Mockingbird Drive for a report of marijuana plants being grown in the backyard.

According to the caller, her mother pulled a plant out of the ground in the backyard and yelled, “Do you want some weed?” before handing the plant to another family member.

Upon inspection, police found that the plant was indeed a weed, but not of the cannabis variety.

 

Warning: Severe Tire Damage

Lawrence Thomas Delbonis, 44, of 580 Devils Foot Road, Apt. C203, was arrested July 25 at 3:40 a.m. on charges of driving while intoxicated.

While in the parking lot of Ace Hardware, an officer allegedly saw Delbonis’ drive past him and go through a red light. Once the officer pulled Delbonis over near School Street, he allegedly noticed the car had sustained severe damage: Both the front and rear driver’s side tires were gone with only the rims remaining, the driver’s side mirror was hanging, the rear window was shattered and there was a large scrape on the entire driver’s side of the car.

According to reports, Delbonis claimed he was returning home from his mother’s house in Warwick. After allegedly failing his field sobriety test, Delbonis’ blood alcohol allegedly tested at .099 percent in a preliminary breath test. At headquarters, Delbonis’ blood alcohol level allegedly tested at .093 and .088 percent. The legal limit in Rhode Island is .08.
