Police responded to Fish’s residence for a reported domestic disturbance. According to Fish, he was asleep in bed when the alleged victim came home, accompanied by two friends, and told him to leave her house, prompting a verbal argument. According to reports, when police asked him if he had been drinking that night, he pointed to an empty bottle of Jack Daniels.
Though Fish said that there was no physical contact, his alleged victim told police he had grabbed her arm and refused to let her leave the bedroom during the argument. According to reports, Fish also hit the hand of one of the other women present, who had called police.
Fish was brought to the North Kingstown Police Department for booking, where police said he was “less than cooperative.” The department granted the alleged victim a no-contact order against Fish.
Later that day, the woman contacted police again, saying Fish had sent her two blank text messages. Police reportedly confirmed that Fish had texted the woman.
While at her house, police received a call from dispatch asking them to be on the lookout for a possible intoxicated driver in a black Kia with Georgia plates. Overhearing the call, the victim reportedly said that was her car and that she had been home for 30 minutes. Police noted that she did not appear to be under the influence. Police reportedly discovered the report of a drunk driver came from Fish’s phone.
When police made contact with Fish, he said he had accidentally texted the victim while trying to delete her number from his phone, according to reports. When officers asked Fish about his call regarding a drunken driver in the victim’s car, he admitted that he did not see her car and said, "I don’t know," according to reports. "I just thought she would be driving through around that time and thought she was probably drinking.”
Fish was then placed under arrest again (this time as a bail violator) for breaking the no-contact order.
Fake Bomb Found In Vacant Building
As police were investigating a breaking-and-entering incident on Ten Rod Road, they found what appeared to be a homemade explosive device in the second floor of a barn behind the former Lafayette Nursing Home. According to reports, officers found twine and steel cables strung throughout the room. On one side of the room, they found a metal box on top of an old cigar box with wire, circuit breakers and steel cables running out of it.
Writing on a cigar box read “NOT A JOKE,” “prime before detonation” and “try and detonate IF YOU DARE.” As police followed the cables out of the metal box, they found that two of them led to a white plastic milk crate with six cylinders inside.
Police called in the bomb squad to assess the device. The specialists determined the device was not explosive.
