DUI Suspect Almost Drove Into Construction Site

Whitney Proctor Griffith, 59, of 1 Fones Ave. in North Kingstown was arrested Oct. 11 at 9:26 p.m. on charges of driving under the influence.

Police pulled Griffith over on Post Road, where sewer construction had reduced the road to one lane of traffic. According to reports, Griffith did not merge into the other lane and continued driving toward the construction site, slamming on his brakes before almost driving through the traffic cones. Griffith allegedly told officers he did not see the cones and had consumed three alcoholic drinks that night.

After reportedly failing his field sobriety test, Griffith’s blood alcohol content measured at .123 percent in a preliminary breath test at the scene.

At the police station, Griffith’s blood alcohol tested at .127 percent and .120 in a subsequent test minutes later.

Immigration Officers Find Narcotics on Fugitive

Wilson Alcide, 32, of 48 Ranger Rd. in North Kingstown was arrested Oct. 12 at 11 a.m. on two felony charges of narcotics possession.

Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) officers came into contact with Alcide during a fugitive apprehension arrest to remove him back to Haiti. Alcide allegedly told officers he had cocaine on him and officers found baggies marijuana, OxyContin, Vicodin and Adderall (in addition to the cocaine) on him.

North Kingstown Police found that Alcide was currently on probation until 2015 following a 2009 charge of carrying a firearm without a license from the Providence Police Department. In 2007, Alcide was found guilty on charges of possession of a class D drug. Alcide’s bail was set at $500,000 with surety.

Robert James Moscatelli, 45, of 47 Asqah Dr. in North Kingstown was arrested Oct. 12 at 9:45 p.m. on charges of driving with a suspended license.

Cayla Lyn Liebrich, 24, of 50 Pat Cir. of North Kingstown was arrested Oct. 13 at 3:40 a.m. following a bench warrant for his arrest.
