Man Allegedly Drove Drunk to Get Money For Bar Tab
Stephen Hamilton McGinn, 59, of 44 Wildberry Dr. in Cranston was arrested Sept. 9 at 8:34 p.m. on charges of driving under the influence and refusing to submit to a chemical test.
McGinn was pulled over on Post Road for allegedly speeding. According to reports, he told police he was coming from the bank to get money for a bill he owed at Duffy’s Tavern. Police noted that McGinn had bloodshot, watery eyes and smelled of alcohol. McGinn allegedly told police he drank three beers at Duffy’s that evening.

Before his field sobriety test, McGinn questioned why he was being asked to take one (as he “only had three 16-ounce beers” at Duffy’s) and told the officer he believed he was being set up. After allegedly failing the test, McGinn also refused both a preliminary breath test and a Breathalyzer at the police station.

Stephen Love Mejias, 22, of 217 Prince Edward St. in Fredericksburg, VA was arrested Sept. 11 at 2:30 a.m. on charges of driving with a suspended license and possession of marijuana.
Mejias was pulled over by police for allegedly speeding on Route 4. According to reports, officers smelled burnt marijuana in Mejias’ car. Mejias allegedly told police, “I had been smoking weed in the car earlier. I’m not going to lie to you. I may still have some in here somewhere.” After a search, officers found a bag with marijuana in his cargo shorts and a marijuana cigarette that had been on Mejias’ lap. He was also found to have been driving with a suspended license.

Jacob P. Clauson, 21, of 408 Walmsley Ln. in South Kingstown was arrested Sept. 10 at 10 p.m. following two warrants for his arrest.
Elizabeth Herbert Finneran, 57, of 110 Kelley Rd. in Saunderstown was arrested Sept. 11 at 12:25 a.m. on charges of driving with a suspended license.
Jason Alex Zalomski, 25, of 511 Laurel Hill Ave. in Cranston was arrested Sept. 11 at 9:28 a.m. on charges of driving with a suspended license.
Nicole Lynn Pelley, 25, of 4 State St., Apt. M in North Kingstown was arrested Sept. 12 at 8:45 a.m. on charges of driving with a suspended license and following a bench warrant for her arrest
Diana E. Rose, 23, of 525 Thames St., Apt. 3 in Newport was arrested Sept. 12 at 10:02 p.m. on charges of driving with a suspended license.
