NK Police Log: Man Charged With Attacking Acquaintance's Car

NK Woman Charged With Domestic Assault, Disorderly Conduct

Paula Lynn Bush, 52, of 170 Woodmist Way in North Kingstown, was arrested 8:36 p.m. May 25 on charges of domestic assault and disorderly conduct.

According to her victim, Bush became intoxicated at dinner and began yelling at a 19-year-old man after he told her he would clean his room after he ate dinner. When the victim sided with the other man, Bush allegedly told him “You’re acting like a loser” and proceeded to slap him on the side of the head. According to reports, the 19-year-old man then began to empty Bush’s beer in the sink, prompting her to go to his room and pull the sheets off the bed and throw clothes all over the floor.

When an officer asked Bush if she had struck the victim, she allegedly replied, “Well yeah, I slapped him, but I barely even touched his face.” She was arraigned on $1,000 personal recognizance.

She is set to appear in Fourth District Court on June 7.

Police Arrest Providence Man Following Warrant

Paul Reyes Audette, 58, of 102 Linwood Ave. in Providence, was arrested at 9:30 p.m. on May 26 following a bench warrant for his arrest and on charges of obstructing an officer in the line of duty.

Officers made contact with Audette after responding to a noise complaint on Hornet Road. According to officers, Audette appeared to become nervous while speaking with police and initially tried to walk away from officers. He allegedly told officers he was a truck driver and took great pride in keeping a clean driving record and that he had never been arrested.

During routine checks, police found that Audette had a warrant for his arrest out of Sixth District Court for shoplifting and an “extensive Rhode Island criminal history” with 20 entries, according to police. Police found $1,709 in cash in Audette’s right sock after searching him. According to Audette, he had no explanation for the cash as he his unemployed and collecting disability.

He is set to appear in Fourth District Court on June 7.

NK Man Charged With Attacking Acquaintance's Car

Jonathan Charles Laplume, 19, of 6101 Post Rd., Apt. 40A in North Kingstown, was arrested May 29 at 1:45 p.m. on charges of vandalism and disorderly conduct.

According to reports, Laplume and another man attacked the car of an 18-year-old man they were familiar with who pulled into their neighborhood. The man stated that the two kicked his car, damaging a quarter panel so badly that he is unable to open his passenger side door, and jumped on top of the hood.

Laplume was transported to the A.C.I. for booking.

  • Nicole Pelly, 24, of 4 State St., Apt. M in North Kingstown, was arrested May 27 at 12:15 a.m. following a warrant for her arrest and on charges of driving with a suspended license.
  • Michelle Chaisson, 53, of 547 Dry Bridge Rd. in North Kingstown was arrested May 24 at 6 p.m. on charges of driving with a suspended license. She was arraigned on $1,000 personal recognizance. She is set to appear in Fourth District Court on June 7.
  • Jameel Dudley, 21, of 8 Sutton Ln., Apt. 301 in North Kingstown, was arrested May 24 at 10:54 p.m. following  a bench warrant for his arrest.
