Woman Resists Arrest While Medics Treat Family Member

Angela Jo Rivera, 41, of 58 Lenox Ct. in North Kingstown was arrested Jan. 22 at 10:25 p.m. on charges of resisting arrest and disorderly conduct.

Police and medical crews arrived at Rivera’s home for a medical emergency. According to reports, Rivera was the one who placed the call to authorities.  Rivera was allegedly yelling over officers as they attempted to treat her family member and refused to leave the area and go into another part of the house.

When one officer tried to calm her, she allegedly tried to push past him and began yelling and raising her fists. At one point when an officer grabbed her wrist to calm her down, she allegedly said, “Get your [expletive] hands off me or you’re going to be part of the biggest lawsuit this town has ever seen.”

As police attempted to place her under arrest for disorderly conduct, Rivera reportedly pulled away from the officer and resist handcuffs. Once she was handcuffed, officers said she became upset and began to vomit. She was brought to the North Kingstown Police Department for processing.

NK Man Arrested After 3rd Domestic Violence Charge

Jonathan Manual Kunze, 22, of 23 Dayton Ct. in North Kingstown was arrested Jan. 23 at 12:30 p.m. on charges of domestic assault, domestic vandalism and domestic disorderly conduct.

Kunze allegedly took a family member’s cell phone without permission and left the residence. The family member used a friend’s cell phone to call Kunze and then allegedly broke the friend’s cell phone. When Kunze returned to the apartment, he refused to give back the phone and a physical argument ensued. According to reports, Kunze also began overturning chairs and breaking his family member’s personal items.

This is the third time that Kunze has been arrested on domestic violence charges.

Michael David Brum, 34, of 9 Byron Ct. in North Kingstown was arrested Jan. 22 at 8:44 p.m. on charges of driving with a suspended license.

Cidalia M. Baptista, 28, of 23 Dayton Ct. in North Kingstown was arrested Jan. 22 at 11:58 p.m. following a bench warrant for her arrest.
