NK Police Log: NK Woman, Suspected in Multiple Thefts, Charged With 2 Felonies

NK Teen Flees From Officer Prior to Arrest
Daniel J. Duffy, 18, of 39 Highbush Ter. in North Kingstown was arrested Sept. 20 at 9:20 a.m. on charges of simple assault, disorderly conduct and possessing a prohibited weapon.
According to reports, Duffy was no longer welcome at his mother’s home. During a routine check of the home to make sure that Duffy was not trying to enter the residence, a North Kingstown officer saw Duffy in the backyard. Upon seeing the officer, Duffy allegedly fled into the woods. The officer followed him and after a brief chase, Duffy stopped running and allegedly pulled a pocketknife out of his pocket, prompting the officer pull out his Taser.

According to police, Duffy complied with the officer’s instructions and threw his knife on the ground and emptied his pockets. Duffy allegedly told police that he did not go in the house today but admitted being there the night prior – hiding in the woods when police drove past. He was arrested on the possession charge and two previous charges of assault and disorderly conduct.

Kim R. Carroll, 41, of 28 Yorkshire Rd. in Providence was arrested Sept. 21 at 9:17 p.m. on two felony charges of computer access.
According to reports, Carroll had used an elderly man’s debit card without his consent back in July. Carroll allegedly told officers that the man willing gave her his card to buy them more alcohol, but admitted to using it to buy herself cigarettes and Percocet for herself in addition. According to police, she also admitted that she withdrew money from his account while she was highly intoxicated and therefore did not know how much money she took.
While Carroll was in custody, North Kingstown police questioned her about several other open incidents in which she was the suspect. According to reports, she was suspected of stealing in iPhone from a couple on Union Drive (which she denied). In three other incidents, Carroll allegedly told residents she needed help in order to get inside their apartments. In one case, Carroll reportedly stole $50 in cash from a woman and $60 in cash from another man. In the first case, Carroll paid the woman $50 to avoid prosecution – but still maintained her innocence in the matter – and in the second case she denied any involvement and told officers she was in Providence at the time. In the last case, Carroll allegedly stole a camera, $15 in cash and several credit cards.

Jonathan James Riccitelli, 30, of 480 S. County Trl., Apt. 29 in Exeter was arrested Sept. 20 at 10:02 p.m. on charges of driving with a suspended license.
Danielle Marie Richards, 26, of 61 Hamilton Allenton Rd. in North Kingstown was arrested Sept. 19 at 10:30 a.m. on charges of simple assault, disorderly conduct and vandalism. Police pulled Richards over after checking her plates and finding she had an active warrant for her arrest from an incident on Aug. 28.
