DUI Suspect Was Unable to Complete Field Sobriety Test

Edward Joseph Sweeney, 61, of 27 Arcadia Dr. in North Kingstown was arrested Oct. 2 at 7:46 p.m. on charges of driving under the influence and refusing to submit to a chemical test.

When police pulled Sweeney over for suspected drunken driving, Sweeney allegedly was very fidgety and unable to find his wallet – first stating it was under his seat, then believing it was at his girlfriend’s house before shuffling through his center console. Sweeney’s arresting officer stated that Sweeney smelled of alcohol and had bloodshot and watery eyes.

During his field sobriety test, Sweeney allegedly had to stop and told the officer, “No, I can’t do this” after almost falling to the ground. He allegedly told police he drank two “vodka drinks” that evening. He was brought to the North Kingstown Police Department and arrested on charges of drunken driving.

Woman Caught Taking Salvation Army Donations From

Sandra L. Williams, 50, of 5300 Post Rd., Apt. 354 in East Greenwich was arrested Oct. 3 at 2:16 a.m. following a bench warrant for her arrest.

Police found Williams outside Salvation Army at around 1:30 a.m. According to reports, the officer watched her for several minutes as she went through various boxes and bags at the building’s donation drop-off area. When police confronted her, Williams allegedly told them she was dropping off donations, but later admitted to going through some of the items. She reportedly told police, “Yeah I didn’t know I couldn’t do that.” While checking her license, police found that Williams was wanted on a bench warrant and was arrested.

Man Hit With Domestic Disorderly Charges 

Nicholas A. Dailey, 20, of 694 Ten Rod Rd., Apt. B in North Kingstown was arrested Oct. 4 at 4 a.m. on charges of domestic disorderly conduct and domestic refusal to relinquish a phone.

Dailey allegedly showed up at an ex-girlfriend’s house unannounced to gather his belongings when he reportedly “ripped the living room apart,” according to the victim. When the victim questioned his visit, Dailey allegedly called her names. Dailey allegedly grabbed the victim’s phone when she tried to call police. The woman also believed Dailey took the phone’s battery to prevent her from using it.
