NK Police Log: Student's Comments to Teacher Lead to Arrest of NK Man

Two Cars Broken Into Outside of Church
Two communicants of discovered their cars were broken into shortly after noon on May 12. In both cases, the suspect smashed in the side windows to enter the vehicles. The suspect allegedly stole two Apple iPods and a Garmin GPS unit.

Comments by Forest Park Student Lead to Arrest of NK Man
Richard Thomas Nottage, 43, of 6101 Post Rd., Apt. 90 in North Kingstown, was arrested May 11, at 12:55 p.m. on charges of domestic assault and domestic disorderly conduct.

Police were contacted after a student at told a teacher that Nottage had assaulted her mother and that she was scared to go home. According to the girl, Nottage allegedly grabbed the mother by the throat and pushed her up against a wall after an argument. The daughters were allegedly able to pull him away from their mother. The girl told police that Nottage apologized for his actions the following day, but could not remember everything that happened due to drinking too much the night before.
According to police, the mother confirmed the incident but told police that Nottage did not put his hands around her neck but did rip her sweatshirt during the altercation. She also allegedly would not allow police to talk to her children any further regarding the incident.
Man Allegedly Drags Woman From Car
Douglas J. Zina, 50, of 186 Beach St., Apt. 3 in North Kingstown, was arrested May 11, at 10:05 p.m. on charges of domestic assault and domestic disorderly conduct.
Police arrived at Zina’s apartment after receiving a call from a neighbor. While speaking with Zina’s victim, police allegedly noticed that the woman had bruising near her left eye that appeared fresh. The victim allegedly told police that she had fallen a few days earlier on a porch after missing some steps.
According to police, the reporting party allegedly saw Zina yelling at the woman in the driveway after she refused to get out of the car. The neighbors alleged that Zina dragged the woman from the car through the driver side by her feet. During the altercation, the neighbors allegedly saw the woman “bump” her head against the center console and ground/driveway as she was being dragged. According to reports, “loud yelling” was heard from the apartment following the scuffle.

Keith William Mongillo, 34, of 60 Georgia Ave. in North Kingstown, was arrested May 14, at 5:56 a.m. on following a warrant for his arrest.
