NK Teen Arrested on Domestic Assault Charges
Justin Troy Kilgore, 18, of 172 Beach Street in North Kingstown was arrested Jan. 6 at 11:13 a.m. on charges of domestic assault, domestic vandalism and domestic disorderly conduct.
According to family members, Kilgore became out of control and started to throw several items around the family’s home – including clothing and miscellaneous beauty products. He also allegedly slapped one family member shoved another.

According to police, the North Kingstown Police Department has had an “extensive history of behavioral related contacts” with Kilgore, who recently turned 18, over the past 10 years. His grandmother also told police that Kilgore’s belligerent behavior has increased as of late, including the day prior when he destroyed the side mirror of her car for “no apparent reason at all.” He was arrested and released on $5,000 personal recognizance.

Rodney Clayton Bates, 58, of 15 Highbank Ave. in North Kingstown was arrested Jan. 9 at 1:59 p.m. on charges of carrying a pistol without a license.
Police received reports that a man carrying a firearm was walking in the Davisville Road area near Babcock Road in November 2012. Police found the man, later identified as Bates, who allegedly admitted to police that he had a gun on him. Police searched the man and found a box cutter along with a semi-automatic weapon on him. According to police, there was a magazine in the gun but it was not loaded. Bates was transported to the hospital for evaluation and an arrest warrant was issued for him upon his release.
According to reports, Bates did not turn himself after his treatment. Rhode Island State Police took Bates into custody on Jan. 9 on an unrelated charge and handed him over to the North Kingstown Police Department, which still had an outstanding warrant for his arrest.
