NK Police Log: Two Arrested In Apparent Drag Race

EG Woman Charged With DUI
Patricia Marie Joyce, 57, of 230 Chestnut Drive in East Greenwich, was arrested April 29 at 9:43 p.m. on charges of drunken driving.
North Kingstown police received a notice from the Rhode Island State Police that an intoxicated woman was getting into her car at Inside Scoop. An officer then began to follow Joyce, allegedly observing her swerving in and out of her lane. According to reports, Joyce turned on her high beams even though cars were coming toward her.

When police told Joyce she was being pulled over on suspected drunken driving, reports say she sarcastically responded “Oh please!” multiple times. Joyce gave the officer her registration after he asked for that along with her license and proof of insurance. According to police, Joyce went back to eating her ice cream before police prompted her again for the additional documents.
After failing her field sobriety test, Joyce then took a preliminary breath test with her blood alcohol content allegedly measuring at .132.

She is set to appear in Fourth District Court on May 17.
NK Woman Charged With Attempted Breaking and Entering
Krislyn Dianne Grimes, 27, of 51 New Lexington Road, was arrested April 29 on charges of domestic attempted breaking and entering, disorderly conduct and resisting arrest.
Police responded to Grimes’ ex-boyfriend’s house for a reported intoxicated female attempting to break into the residence. The complainant, Grimes’ ex, was walking his dog when Grimes came up to him and demanded he give her the dog, according to police. The man alleged that Grimes attempted to enter both the front and back doors to get into the house, telling him to open the door or she was going to “smash out all the windows.” Grimes then allegedly grabbed a plastic lawn chair and stood on it in an attempt to open one of the windows.
When police arrived, they said Grimes appeared to be intoxicated and attempted to walk away during question on two separate occasions.

Christopher Lebeau, 20, of 145 Killey Ave. in Warwick, was arrested May 1 at 4 a.m. on charges of drag racing/eluding police, street racing and driving with a revoked license while Scott Silva, 20, of 19 Locust Drive in West Warwick, was arrested on charges of drag racing/eluding police, street racing and obstructing an officer in the line of duty.
Two officers were in the middle of a traffic stop when two cars, driven by Lebeau and Silva, drove past the officer at a high rate of speed, according to reports. Both vehicles ignored the officers’ order to pull over and continued northbound, police allege.
Officer pursued the cars and pulled over one of them just a quarter mile north of Oak Hill Road. While speaking with the driver, Lebeau, and the passengers, three men came out of the woods behind the police. According to police, the men stated they were at a party down the road and discovered through text message that their friends had been pulled over. Police later learned that the three men had been in the other car that police saw speeding.
During questioning, Lebeau allegedly told police that he and Silva had been drag racing and had been traveling more than 80 mph.
They are both set to appear in Fourth District Court on May 17.
Other Arrests...
- Gregory Alleva, 35, of 52 Intrepid Drive, was arrested April 27 at 1:33 a.m. on charges of driving on a suspended license and following a warrant for his arrest. Police pulled Alleva over after allegedly clocking him at 51 mph in a 35-mph zone on Post Road. During the vehicle stop, police learned that Alleva had a suspended license and was wanted on a warrant out of Sixth District Court. He was transported to the Adult Correctional Institute for booking.
- Dylan William Blair, 20, of 629 Knotty Oak Road in Coventry, was arrested April 28 following a bench warrant for his arrest.
- Robert Mingo, 18, of 35 Russell Ave. in East Providence, was arrested April 27 at 9:32 p.m. following a bench warrant for his arrest.
