Woman Allegedly Assaults Two, Vomits in Police Car
Michele A. Camara, 35, of Shore Acres Ave., was arrested Jan. 3 at 9:26 p.m. on charges of domestic assault and domestic disorderly conduct.
Camara allegedly pushed a two-year-old girl and assaulted a 33-year-old man, repeatedly hitting him in the face and head area as well as biting him. According to the male victim, Camara had been acting erratically for the past few days. Camara told police the victim had grabbed her by the neck and was trying to choke her, prompting her to bite him. According to reports, police did not see any bruising or marks on her neck.

According to a witness, Camara also kicked the man in the groin area, causing him to fall to the ground. During transport to the North Kingstown Police Department, Camara allegedly continued to scream and tried to make herself vomit. According to reports, she was successful with the latter.
At headquarters, officers responded to Camara’s cell multiple times as she had allegedly taken off her underwear and used them to tie up her hair. According to police, Camara was also verbally abusive to officers and continued to say she was in pain from a recent ear infection and strep throat, prompting the North Kingstown Fire Department to bring her to Kent County Hospital for treatment.

She is scheduled to appear in Third District Court on Jan. 24.
Assault Allegedly Spurred by Washing Machine Repairs
Alissa Lee Lafazia, 20, of 48 Oak Hill Road, was arrested Jan. 5 at 3 p.m. on charges of domestic assault and domestic disorderly conduct.
According to Lafazia’s victim, the argument began when the victim (an 18-year-old man) was trying to order a part for a washing machine over the phone. The two allegedly grabbed the phone from each other and spit in each other’s faces. When the victim took the SIM card from Lafazia’s phone, she allegedly punched him in the face just before a neighbor entered the apartment to investigate the commotion.
According to the victim and neighbor, Lafazia approached the neighbor in a threatening manner. When the victim tried to pull Lafazia away from the neighbor, Lafazia allegedly slapped him across the face. According to Lafazia, the victim had “clothes-lined” her, hit her and threatened to take her child away. Police did not see any marks or bruises on Lafazia and placed her under arrest.
EG Teen Charged With Pot Possession
Benjamin Berger, 19, of 45 Signal Ridge, Apt. WY in East Greenwich, was arrested Jan. 7 at 11:45 p.m on charges of possession of marijuana and driving in possession of a controlled substance.
Police pulled Berger over after allegedly clocking him travelling at 46 mph in a 25 mph zone on Essex Road. According to police, Berger appeared to be nervous while speaking with the officer, giving quick and short answers and clenching the steering wheel. The officer noted that Berger and his passenger smelled of alcohol; the pair reprtedly denied drinking that night.
Inside the car, officers allegedly found an empty “dime bag,” a digital scale, an empty cigar tube and what appeared to be remnants of marijuana on the bottom of the center console. Police also allegedly found 10 grams of marijuana in a backpack in the front seat of the car.
Berger is scheduled to appear in Third District Court on Jan. 31.
