NK Police Log: Woman Allegedly Vandalizes Own Bedroom With Paint

Man Arrested After He Allegedly Smashes Victim's Cell Phone
Angel Ricardo Ocasio, 46, of 102 Salisbury Ave. in North Kingstown, was arrested on August 2 at 10:15 p.m. on charges of domestic assault and disorderly conduct.
Police were dispatched to the scene for a report of a woman yelling and screaming for help. Upon police arrival, they found the victim standing outside the house, who informed them that an argument had taken place between himself and Ocasio. The woman that was heard yelling was a witness and the victim’s mother.

According to reports, the victim did not have any visible marks or injuries. When police spoke with Ocasio, he allegedly stated that he had been arguing with the victim because he continually uses obscenities. Accordingto police, Ocasio said that he then took the victims cell phone and began slamming it on the kitchen floor, which caused it to break. He also allegedly told police he then tried to move the victim’s bureau outside and it caused a screen on the front door to rip. According to police, Ocasio went on to tell police he had been waving a broom at the victim to get him out of the house and that, although he had thought about hitting the victim with it, he never did.
Ocasio was arrested, transported to headquarters where he was processed and later released on a $5,000 personal recognizance.

Woman Allegedly Tells Police "If You're Going To Arrest Me, You Better Arrest Him"
Jessica M. Correia, 37, of 6 Yorktown Rd. in North Kingstown, was arrested on August 3 at 1:20 a.m. on charges of domestic assault, vandalism and disorderly conduct.
Police were dispatched after receiving a call that a woman was allegedly letting air out of a truck tire. Upon arrival, police spoke with the victim, who police noted had a fresh cut on his nose that was bleeding. According to reports, he told police that Correia had struck him in the nose and bit both of his triceps, then showed police the bite marks. According to reports, his shirt was also ripped and he had fresh marks on his neck. He also told police that she had ripped his blinds down, breaking them.
When police found Correia in the house, they spoke with her and she reportedly said that nothing physical had taken place and that the bruises on her legs were from last week when she and the victim “got into it.” According to police, Correia said they always “get into it” but that nothing happened tonight. According to reports, she proceeded to tell police that the bruises on her legs were actually from the victim kicking her tonight. When police advised her that they were going to arrest her, she reportedly said, “if you are going to arrest me, you better arrest him.”
Woman Allegedly Vandalizes Own Bedroom With Blue Paint
Kathleen J. Drury, 37, of 24 Bellewood Court was arrested on August 3 at 5:55 a.m. on charges of domestic assault, refusal to relinquish a telephone, vandalism and disorderly conduct.
According to report, police arrived on the scene after the victim called to say that Drury was intoxicated, had become aggressive and was throwing and smashing items. Police allegedly found both the victim and Drury standing on the front steps and they noted the victim had a visible red scratch on his forehead.
The victim told police that the incident had taken place over the course of the entire night and that Drury had become more and more irrational and intoxicated as she allegedly drank more. After they decided to go to sleep in separate rooms for the night, the victim allegedly saw Drury go into the master bedroom with a can of blue paint.
Shortly thereafter, Drury allegedly came into the victim’s room and smashed a picture on the nightstand and ripped the picture in half and then threw a glass of water at the victim. According to the victim, she then took two other picture frames and smashed them before ripping the pictures in half also. He told police that they began arguing and it lasted for hours until Drury allegedly became even more upset and shoved a large brass lamp in the victim’s direction, which struck him in the head, causing the scratch on his head.
When the victim told Drury that he was going to call the police to come calm her down, she reportedly began “wrestling” with him to get the phone away but eventually he was able to call police.
After police had placed Drury under arrest, an officer went into the master bedroom, per the victim’s request and saw that every wall was written on in blue paint. The words “SAD” and “Liar” were written on the walls along with many other miscellaneous signs and symbols. When asked about this, Drury allegedly said that she simply “expressing” herself.
Man Arrested With Four Bench Warrants
Jamar A. Goggins, 22, of 51 Ranger Road was arrested on August 4 at 5:40 a.m. on charges of domestic assault, disorderly conduct, refusal to relinquish a telephone, violating a no-contact order and following a bench warrant from Third District Court, a bench warrant from Sixth District Court and two superior court bench warrants.
When police arrived on the scene, the victim answered the door and was reportedly visibly upset and crying. She told police that Goggins was hiding in the closet. Police ordered him to exit the closet but he allegedly wouldn’t exit and asked police if he could use his cell phone. When he finally exited, police handcuffed him.
According to reports, the victim told police that Goggins arrived at her house sometime during the night and that, when she woke up, he was upset. She told police that when she tried to call the police, he took the phone from her. Police later allegedly found her cell phone in Goggin’s right front pocket. The victim then told police that Goggins began choking her, hitting her in the face and then kicked her in the stomach. She continued to tell police that she scratched him because she could not breath, which police noted would be consistent with the scratch marks allegedly found on Goggins chest. Goggins was transported to headquarters to be processed.
