Woman Charged In "Cat" Burglary
Heather Maldonado, 40, of 73 King Phillip Drive in North Kingstown, was arrested June 29 at 4 p.m. on charges of stealing a kitten from the .
According to owner Renate Sager-Daniels, Maldonado was doing court-ordered community service at the Pet Refuge and, on several occasions, inquired about a white kitten at the facility. Sager-Daniels clamed she told Maldonado that the kitten was not ready for adoption and she would have to fill out an application like everyone else to adopt the animal.

Toward the end of Maldonado’s shift, Sager-Daniels saw her enter the kennel area. When she didn’t return within a reasonable amount of time, Sager-Daniels went to the kennel area to the white kitten’s cage, which was slightly open and void of the kitten. Sager-Daniels allegedly looked out the window to see Maldonado walking away with a cardboard box.
When police arrived at Maldonado’s home, she allegedly admitted to stealing the kitten. According to reports, she stole the kitten as a present for her four children.

The kitten was returned safely to the Pet Refuge.
Maldonado is set to appear in Fourth District Court on July 19.
Providence Man Charged With Driving Without A License
Jose Us, 20, 138 Cleveland St. in Providence, was arrested June 28 at 11:25 p.m. on charges of driving with an expired license. Police pulled Us over on Route 4 and found him inside the car without a seat belt and without a license. When police asked for his driving information, he allegedly provided an officer with a Guatemalan passport.
Warwick Man Charged With Possession of Marijuana
Cole Alden Stewart, 18, of 44 Nipsah Rd. in Warwick, was arrested June 29 at 12:08 a.m. on charges of possession of marijuana.
Initially, an officer wrote up Stewart for speeding down Frenchtown Road but, after he returned to Stewart’s car with the ticket, the officer allegedly noticed that Stewart was so nervous he was shaking. According to reports, the officer also smelled marijuana. After searching Stewart, the officer allegedly found a plastic bag filled with marijuana in his pocket. Police also found more marijuana in the car’s center console and $400 cash in the glove compartment, according to reports.
Stewart is set to appear in Fourth District Court on July 19.
NK Man Charged After Breaking Two Doors, Car Part
Jonathan Patrick Toolin, 19, of King Phillip Circle in North Kingstown, was arrested June 29 at 8:10 p.m. on charges of domestic vandalism and disorderly conduct.
According to reports, Toolin became agitated after two people refused to give him money and then asked him to leave their home. The people allege that Toolin punched their front door, the screen door and kicked the air filter box to a car, damaging all three. According to Toolin, he was shoved by one of the persons during the altercation.
Argument Over Cell Phone Spurs Alleged Domestic Assault
Ashley Graham, 19, of Elmwood Drive in North Kingstown, was arrested June 20 at 12:54 a.m. on charges of domestic assault and disorderly conduct.
Graham allegedly got into an argument with a 42-year-old woman regarding a missing cell phone. According to reports, Graham chased the woman around the house and allegedly pulled the woman’s hair. A witness at the home corroborated the victim’s story.
