NK Police Log: Woman Charged With Shoplifting From Kohl's

Purses Stolen Near Rome Point

Two purses were stolen from a car parked near Rome Point on Feb. 12. One of the purses was left on the floor of the front passenger seat while the other was hidden beneath the driver’s side seat. According to police, the car was locked but the suspect smashed in a window in order to enter the car. Police are investigating the matter.

Jacqueline L. Bryant, 39, of 12 Sutton Ln., Apt. 102 in North Kingstown, was arrested Feb. 12 at 3:57 p.m. on charges of shoplifting from Kohl’s.

According to a store employee, Bryant went into a changing room with an assortment of items but left the room with only a pair of sweatpants. She was allegedly intercepted by said employee and brought back into the store, where she “freely admitted” that she stole items and subsequently removed them from her jacket. According to reports, Bryant stole four items (a pair of running shoes, a make-up kit, a t-shirt and shower curtains) totaling $147.99.

After Bryant was arrested and taken to the North Kingstown Police Department, officers stated that Bryant “freely admitted to shoplifting from Kohl’s as well as other businesses in the area.” She was issued a no-trespass order for Kohl’s.

Cranston Man Arrested Following Warrant 

Jeffrey Charles Ramsdell, 29, of 195 Smith Street in Cranston, was arrested Feb. 12 at 7:45 p.m. on charges of driving on a suspended license and following a warrant for his arrest.

Ramsdell was pulled over after police allegedly clocked him at 76 mph in a 50 mph zone on Route 403 near the Amtrak overpass. According to the officer, Ramsdell appeared to be nervous and quickly admitted that his license was suspended and that there was a warrant out for his arrest. He was transported to the ACI and is set to appear in Third District Court on March 6.

Providence Man Charged With Driving Without a License 

Hugo Salado Zamora, 28, of 91 Alverson St. in Providence, was arrested Feb. 13 at 11:09 p.m. on charges of driving without a license.

According to reports, police initially clocked Zamora traveling 76 mph in a 55 mph zone. As an officer tried to catch up to the car, Zamora allegedly turned right on to Oak Hill Road and then took an immediate left on Lafayette Road.

Zamora allegedly told officers that he did not have a driver’s license in the United States but had been living in the country for the past eight years.

NK Woman Hit With Two Demeanors in Alleged Domestic Assault 

Jamie Lee Pelley, 29, of 1075 Old Baptist Road in North Kingstown, was arrested Feb. 13 at 9:11 a.m. on charges of domestic disorderly conduct and domestic assault.

Pelley allegedly shoved a man in front of two police officers after an argument over money. At headquarters, Pelley continued to yell and would “go limp and would not walk on her own,” according to police.

Keith Alan Pruenca, 33, of 42 Ranger Road in North Kingstown, was arrested Feb. 10:55 a.m. following two bench warrants for his arrest.

Ryan Matthew Bruskie, 25, of 561 Lafayette Road in North Kingstown, was arrested Feb. 14 at 12:16 p.m. following a bench warrant for his arrest.

William Andreozzi, 39, of 188 Sylvan Ct. in North Kingstown, was arrested Feb. 11 at 12:50 a.m. following a warrant for his arrest.
