Woman Uses Police Phone to Contact Man Protected by No-Contact Order

Deborah Evelyn Brayton, 60, of 45 Pemberton Ave., Apt. F27 in Jamestown was arrested Aug. 27 at 9:47 a.m. on charges of violating a no-contact order.

While in custody after violating a no contact order, Brayton allegedly used the police department’s phone to call her attorney – or so she told police. According to reports, Brayton called the man who was protected by the no contact order that Brayton had just violated hours earlier. She was then charged with another count of violating a no contact order. According to the victim, Brayton had left him a voicemail threatening to contact the State Police to press charges against him.

Failed U-Turn Attempt Leads to DUI Arrest

John Joseph Kilcommons III, 26, of 26 Hanson Dr. in North Kingstown was arrested Aug. 29 at 10:21 p.m. on charges of drunken driving and refusing to submit to a chemical test.

Police arrived to Ten Rod Road for a two-car accident. According to reports, Kilcommons was closely following another car before passing it in the breakdown lane. The driver of the other car told police that Kilcommons was “swerving all over the road.” Kilcommons allegedly tried to make a u-turn and was struck by the other car.

According to the other driver, Kilcommons had put his right turn signal on and appeared to be puling over, but then abruptly swerved in front of them to make the u-turn. Kilcommons told police that he had put his left turn signal on to turn and that the other car had tried passing him by crossing the into the oncoming lane.

According to reports, Kilcommons told police that he had drank two beers that night and had taken two prescription pills of Klonopin, a Vicodin and a Zoloft. A 66-year-old passenger in the other car was injured and brought to the hospital. Police noetd that his eyes appeared to be watery and his mood was erratic.

After allegedly failing his sobriety test, police placed him under arrest. According to reports, Kilcommons told officers, “I am only being arrested because I am a Kilcommons and you have a problem with me and my dad” and “I’m tired of the NKPD and you will be hearing from my lawyer.”

Due to the fact that he had admitted to ingesting multiple prescription medications, he was transported to Kent County Hospital.
