The following information was supplied by the North Kingstown Police Department.

Man Racks Up Five Charges During Alleged Assault

Glenn Paul Gadrow, 47, of 690 Lafayette Road, was arrested June 11 at 9:06 p.m. on two counts of assault, one count each of domestic violence, disorderly conduct and resisting arrest, and a felony charge for violating a no contact order.

Police responded to Devils Foot Road for a reported dispute between two neighbors, who were arguing and slamming doors. When police arrived, officers allegedly found Gadrow and a neighbor (who had a no contact order against Gadrow) lying on the floor. Both appeared to be intoxicated, and Gadrow appeared to have numerous fresh scratches on his face, according to police reports. The neighbor denied any assault had taken place, according to police.

Gadrow refused to cooperate when speaking to police, reports indicate, becoming more agitated as officers asked more questions regarding the reported disturbance. At one point, Gadrow allegedly shoved an officer in an attempt to speak with his neighbor. When police attempted to handcuff him, he made a fist with both hands and told police, “I don’t want to do this, you know me,” officers reported. The officers called for backup due to Gadrow’s "known propensity to violence" with police, according to reports.

Police said Gadrow slapped an officer’s hand away, prompting the officer to pepper spray him. Gadrow then allegedly lunged at officers and continued to resist until police were able to handcuff him. While police attempted to escort Gadrow to the car, he reportedly began to kick his legs before police took him to the ground to be searched.
