NK Police: Strange Spray Paintings, Tight-Lipped DUI Suspect & More
The following information was supplied by the North Kingstown Police Department. Where arrests or charges are mentioned, it does not indicate a conviction.

NK Man Charged With Domestic Assault, Disorderly Conduct
Steven Thomas Burton, 23, of 160 Pine River Drive in North Kingstown, was arrested Feb. 1 at 5:18 a.m. on charges of domestic disorderly conduct and domestic assault.
According to Burton’s victim, the two began arguing at around 11 p.m. when Burton took her car keys and refused to let her leave his residence, allegedly pulling her by the shoulder which prompted a physical altercation. According to the victim the situation calmed down after Burton allegedly pulled her by the arm back to the house after she ran into the woods.

The altercation then picked up again hours later when the victim allegedly awoke to Burton going through her cell phone. Again, the witness stated that Burton would not let her leave the residence. According to reports, Burton kicked the victim out of the residence after his mother told the two to stop arguing.
Burton allegedly told officers he “dragged” the woman back to the residence because she was intoxicated. (Officers noted that the victim seemed to be under the influence when they picked her up on the side of Pine River Drive after she called police.)

Express Yourself: Spray Paint Edition
Police discovered some rather…unique self expression in the form of spray paint last week. While on patrol at Signal Rock Park, officers discovered a bevy of spray paint, proclaiming the following messages:
- “Don’t train me or chain me”
- “Unleash the beast”
- “Paint me”
- “Occupy reality”
- “It’s just a [expletive] plant”
- “Eco friendly”
- “Sorry about the door”
The spray paintng on the building was done in yellow, green, pink and gold paint. Officers did not find evidence of any discarded spray paint cans. There are no suspects at this time.
Man Charged With DUI Tries to Stay Mum
Jeffrey Anthony Forcelli, 36, of 578 Oak Hill Road in North Kingstown, was arrested Feb. 4 at 2:04 a.m. on charges of drunken driving, driving with a suspended license and refusal to submit to a chemical test.
Police initially began to follow Forcelli’s Chevy Blazer in the Glen Hill Drive area, namely because of the recent cases of thefts from vehicles in the area. Once the officer began following the Blazer, Forcelli quickly turned on to Slocum Road and then immediately parked in a driveway. Continuing down Slocum Road, the officer checked the registration of the Blazer and found that Forecelli’s license had been suspended and that he lived on Oak Hill Road, not Slocum Road.
When the officer went back to the Slocum Road residence where Forcelli had parked, he found the Blazer gone. A short while later, the officer found Forcelli’s Blazer, which again turned into the same Slocum Road driveway.
When the officer approached Forecelli’s Blazer and asked him what he was doing, Forcelli allegedly stared straight ahead with both hands on the steering wheel and did not respond. The officer asked him again what he was doing, to which he responded, “I don’t know.” According to the officer, Forcelli acted “very nervous” as his hands were shaking, eyes wide open, face was flushed and “spent an extended period of time silent” before answering questions.
According to reports, Forcelli admitted to pulling into the driveway to avoid the officer’s police car. When the officer asked Forcelli why he was trying to avoid him, Forcelli allegedly just stared at the officer and did not respond. Inside the Blazer, the officer allegedly saw “several open beer cans.” According to police, Forcelli eventually told the officer he had six cocktails that night and tried to avoid him because he thought he “had too much to drink.”
Forcelli refused to take a field sobriety test or any breathalyzers.
He is scheduled to appear in Third District Court on Feb. 28.
