NK resident Karen King recognized at NK Chamber of Commerce Volunteer

Karen King was honored at the NK Chamber of Commerce Volunteer Appreciation dinner held at the O Club on May 22nd. Karen was selected for this year’s award by the North Kingstown/ Jamestown service unit of Girl Scouts of Rhode Island for her time and effort she gives in support of Girl Scouts.  Mrs. King has held many positions in Girl Scouts, first as a troop leader for many years, and now as the Service Unit Manager for North Kingstown and Jamestown. She participates actively with local troops, helping leaders to run interesting programs for the girls, and finding opportunities for Girl Scouts to make a difference in North Kingstown. She is role model and mentor to all the girls. Leader, Jennifer DeBlois says about Karen “when a Girl Scout volunteers their time, she [Karen] makes sure the scout knows how much they are appreciated. She's very proud of all of her Scouts, from the smallest to the oldest.”
