Dorothy (Krantz) Morris, 92 of Wickford, died peacefully almost 15 years after her husband on Friday, January 9, 2015.

MORRIS, Dorothy (Krantz), 92, of Wickford, died peacefully almost 15 years after her husband on Friday, January 9, 2015 at South County Nursing & Rehabilitation Center. She was the wife of the late John E. Morris. Born in Providence, she was a daughter of the late Fritz H. Krantz and Bertie Benson-Leonard Krantz.

Mrs. Morris was a graduate of West Warwick High School and Ithaca College. She worked in upstate New York as a music teacher until she returned to Rhode Island, where she taught music in East Greenwich Public Schools for many years. In her later years, she worked as the organist of St. Matthias Episcopal Church. She was a Communicant of St. Paul’s Episcopal Church, Wickford, a member of the Wickford Yacht Club, North Kingstown Garden Club, and the North Kingstown Women’s Club.

She leaves her two loving children, Jane Morris-Coons (the late Richard E. Coons) of Coventry and William M. Morris and his wife Valerie of North Kingstown. Cherished grandmother of Cynthia A. Foberg (Jeromy), Sarah E. Connors (Richard), Andrew M. Coons, and great-grandmother of Kailyn E. Connors. She was the sister of the late Winona Krantz and Milton Krantz.

Her Requiem Eucharist will be held Thursday, January 15, 2015 at 11:00 am in St. Paul’s Episcopal Church, 55 Main Street, Wickford. Burial in the Old Narragansett Church Cemetery will be private. Relatives and friends are invited and may call on Wednesday from 4:00-7:00 pm in THE CRANSTON-MURPHY FUNERAL HOME of WICKFORD, 140 West Main Street, Wickford Village, North Kingstown.
