Obituary: Illona I. (Delaney) Tessier, 92

Illona I. (Delaney) Tessier, 92, of North Kingstown, died peacefully on Sunday, February 8, 2015 at South Kingstown Nursing & Rehabilitation Center. She was the wife of the late Lawrence N. Tessier. Born in Providence, she was a daughter of the late James Delaney and Gladys (Ellinwood) Delaney.

Along with her husband, Mrs. Tessier was the owner of the former Wickford Shoe store for many years. She also worked as a bookkeeper for Coastline Travel and the Davisville Credit Union. She was a former member and secretary of the Community Baptist Church in Wickford and attended the Narragansett Baptist Church. Mrs. Tessier enjoyed crocheting, reading, and coin collecting.

She leaves her three loving daughters, Suzanne I. McBride and her husband Wes of Exeter, Janet M. Romanelli of Naples, FL, and Laureen D. Young and her husband Kenneth of West Greenwich. Cherished grandmother of 10 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. She was the grandmother of the late Sherri L. Young and the sister of the late Elaine Milliken.

Her Funeral Service will be held, Saturday, February 14, 2015 at 11:00 am in THE CRANSTON-MURPHY FUNERAL HOME of WICKFORD, 140 West Main St, Wickford Village, North Kingstown. Burial will follow in Quidnessett Memorial Cemetery, North Kingstown. Relatives & friends are invited and may call on Friday from 4:30 – 6:30 pm.
