The Rev. James L. Verber, 89, of North Kingstown, passed away on Sunday, November 30, 2014 in the care of loving family.

The Rev. James L. Verber, 89, of North Kingstown, passed away on Sunday, November 30, 2014 in the care of loving family.
He is survived by his wife Ruth G. (Beatty) Verber, sister Yvonne Klueskens of Green Bay, WI, stepsons David Blatt of Sandusky, OH Barry Blatt of Coventry, RI and son Eric Verber of Wausau, WI.
Reverend Verber is survived by 14 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great grandchildren. He was predeceased by son Marc James Verber, daughter Sharon Verber Whelan, granddaughter Jennifer Whelan Schmidt, granddaughter Christiane Verber, step-grandson Jimmy Scribner, brother Robert Verber and sister Marion Verber Anderson.

Reverend Verber was a WWII veteran serving in China and India. He served in the US Public Health Service where he was commanding officer of their NE Technical Services facility in Davisville, RI retiring in 1985 having achieved the rank of Captain. Reverend Verber was ordained in the Episcopal Church in 1988 and served in various parishes in Rhode Island until his retirement in 1995.
His Requiem Eucharist will be held on Friday, December 5, 2014 at 11:00 am in St. Paul’s Episcopal Church, 55 Main Street, Wickford. Burial in the RI Veterans Memorial Cemetery will be private. Calling Hours are respectfully omitted. Kindly omit flowers. Gifts in Rev.
