October is Wicked in Wickford

Graveyards. Pumpkins. The Horribles Parade. Wickford is the place to be this fall season.

Looking for fun, preferably free things to do to keep the kids busy this fall season?

Wickford Village has plenty to offer, with a slew of events from Oct. 18 to 31 for what’s being called “Wicked Week & 1/2”

Here’s a breakdown of the events:

Saturday, Oct. 18
From 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., it’s Pumpkins in the Park. Kids get to decorate a free pumpkin in Updike Park. There’s face painting, too.

Sunday, Oct. 19
Graveyards of Wickford, an interesting historic walking tour at Updike Park, will be led by historian Tim Cranson. Walk begins at 2 p.m.

Thursday, Oct. 23
Wicked Bingo! It’s at 7 p.m. and all proceeds benefit the NK Food Pantry. Located at St. Paul’s Parish House, 55 Main St. Doors open at 6 p.m. Call 401-295-5566 for reservations.

Sat. Oct. 25
Family sing-a-long and instrument jam, featuring Sing With B Music. 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.

Sunday Oct. 26
It’s the Horribles Parade. Children are invited to march in the annual costume parade that begins around noon from St. Paul’s Parish House on Main Street.

Friday, Oct. 31
Trick-or-Treat throughout the day at participating businesses.

And through the entire period, there’s a Fun and Spooky Scavenger Hunt. Pick up a list at any village business.
