Police Log: Facebook Spat over "Dirty Deeds" Dancing

The following arrests and incidents were reported by North Kingstown police. They do not indicate a conviction.

FACEBOOK FEUD
On Monday, police told several women engaged in a Facebook argument stemming from a Feb. 15 night at a club in Foxboro, Mass., to stop communicating with each other.

According to a police report, a 47-year-old North Kingstown woman called police and reported that she was being harassed by a woman married to a man she danced with at a show by the cover band "Dirty Deeds."

The woman told police that the man is a member of the band.

"She did not believe that that she had done anything inappropriate that evening towards [the man] or anyone else," police said.

But the man's wife apparently disagreed and sent her a message on Facebook demanding an apology.

The North Kingstown woman also reportedly got messages from the upset wife's cousin, who threatened to "whoop [her] ass" if she came to anymore Dirty Deeds shows and suggested they "meet up to solve the issue."

Police spoke with the wife and cousin who claimed the North Kingstown woman was intoxicated and "constantly made sexual innuendoes towards her husband."

They also told police that a rude post was made on one of their Facebook walls, which promoted their anger.

Police told everyone involved to stop contacting each other immediately and if there are any further issues to call police.

LANDLORD DISPUTE
North Kingstown Police on Feb. 22 told a 66-year-old West Allenton Road man to work with the building inspector in response to complaints that his landlord is keeping the house unreasonably cold and literally trying to smoke him out of the house with a wood burning stove.

Police said the tenant told police that he started renting a boarding room in November and noticed the internal temperature was about 58 degrees. When he brought it up, the landlord reportedly told him he "would set the temperature at whatever he chose."

The next day, the tenant found the thermostat was set at 40 degrees and subsequently called the building inspector.

Since then, the tenant said he believes his landlord has been targeting him. Over the last two weeks, his room has filled with smoke from the wood burning stove in the early morning and late evening — something he believes is intentional, to "smoke him out of the house," police said.

The tenant said he's concerned about the health effects of smoke and it makes sleeping difficult. He also said he found nails behind his rear tires this morning and believes the landlord put them there. Although he would like to move out, financially he can't.

Police documented the issue and recommended the tenant call the building inspector in regards to the stove and to call the fire and/or police department if he experiences hazardous smoke conditions again.

HIT AND RUN
Police charged Anthony Scott Tallo, 20, of 58 Phenix Ave., West Warwick, with failing to stop at the scene of an accident and driving without a license after he allegedly rear-ended a 48-year-old North Kingstown man at the intersection of Ten Rod Road and Wickford Junction on Dec. 17.

Tallo was arrested last week after West Warwick police picked him up on a warrant issued by North Kingstown police.

North Kingstown police got that warrant thanks to the license plate number from the car Tallo was driving ending up imprinted on the victim's bumper.

At the scene, the victim told police that after he was rear ended, he pulled into a nearby bank parking lot to document the crash, expecting Tallo to do the same.

He called police when Tallo sped off.

Police were able to get a partial plate from the imprint at the scene. But the victim called police the next day to report that the last number was readable thanks to the car being parked in the garage and drying off.
