Sullivan
Elizabeth Kirby Sullivan is a painter working and living in Gloucester, MA. After studying for her BFA from Pratt Institue in 2010, and a decade of bouncing around different cities (from Portland, Oregon to New York), she and her husband, Jamie O’Neill relocated to their home state of Massachusetts. Drawn to the dichotomy of a city known for hard scrabble fishermen and high minded artists, her inner history nerd is satiated by the varied and intriguing culture there. The past two summers, Elizabeth and her husband became part of the regions artistic tradition by opening their own gallery, called ZBY, on Rocky Neck in Gloucester. Her previous work dealt with the marriage of her graffiti background with her fine art training, focusing on the abstraction of the written language. Through the application and removal of multiple layers of paint, Elizabeth created a visual history for her paintings blurring the line between sculpture and painting. Her new work has been heavily influenced by the local legends and history in Gloucester. She has shown her work in New York, Boston, and in Paris.
Arentsen
Carolina Arentsen studied at The Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts summer courses at 15 years old until she was 18 and then attended and graduated from RISD with a degree in Illustration. Arentsen continued studies in Graphic Design and Computer Aided Design at RISD in addition to course work for Advertising at The Ad Club of Boston. Her work has exhibited at Krauss Gallery, Providence Optical, Amaral Revite Gallerie Ellipsis in Newport RI, The German American Cultural Society in Pawtucket RI, the Integrated Artists Exhibit at the Artists Exchange Gallery in Cranston and Chapel View Gallery in Cranston and cafes such as West River Cafe, Le’Artisan and White Electric. The Artist was recently accepted to the Florence Biennale in Italy.
