RI Senator Sheldon Whitehouse recently introduced a carbon- pricing bill that includes providing dividends to households as one of the revenue options for fees collected from the fossil fuel industry.

Scott Nystrom is a Senior Economic Associate at Regional Economic Models, Inc. (REMI), in Washington, DC. His recent major projects have included economic impact analyses of the federal “fiscal cliff” and sequestration, the TransCanada Keystone XL pipeline, and carbon tax studies in Massachusetts, Washington, and California. Since 1980, REMI has provided economic impact studies for governmental and private-sector clients.
