Skippers Demolish Cranston 18-6
North Kingstown girls lacrosse team demolishes Cranston West 18-6.
There was a tremendous offensive display in Thursday afternoon's lacrosse game. One team scored at will and their offense's quick strike ability was too much to handle.
The North Kingstown (0-1) girls lacrosse team traveled to Cranston Stadium to take on the Falcons (0-3). The Skippers were in control for the entire match and won 18-6.
Senior Chloe Read picked up the first of many goals for North Kingstown only 14 seconds into the match. About a minute and a half later West senior Jess Ricci tied the game at 1.

Over the course of the next two and a half minutes, the Skippers scored four goals, taking a commanding 5-1 lead. Junior Jamie Wadovick picked up the last goal of the streak on a breakaway.
After Ricci picked up her second goal, North Kingstown's offense put the game out of reach with five goals in a row. Senior Julia Smiley shined during this offensive surge, scoring the first three goals of the run.

Ricci picked up a hat trick of her own scoring with just under nine minutes left in the first half, but West still strailed 10-3.
The onslaught continued and Emma Coppola's goal with 1:38 left in the first half upped the Skippers lead to 14-4. North Kingstown's speed and teamwork was too much to handle for West.
The Skippers picked up their first win of the season with the 18-6 victory. Senior Abby Gannon scored five goals and senior Laura Alviti picked up a hat trick for North Kingstown.
North Kingstown coach, Keith Higgins, talked about his offense and the goalie. "I was happy with a lot of the offense," he said, "Our goalie made some key saves and had some good moments out there."
