SUMMER'S START SAT. JUNE 21 RE-STARTS GEN. STANTON FLEA MARKET'S HIGH SEASON IN CHARLESTOWN

Even though Charlestown's General Stanton Inn Flea Market opened its' 49th Season at the end of April, its' true "Grand Opening" is this weekend: Saturday, June 21 and Sunday, June 22. That's because Summer starts  this Saturday, and with it comes "High Tide Season" for this Flea Market surrounded by beaches. As schools close and cottages open, a great number of vacationers join the loyal, local customers, for twice-a-weekend treasure hunting at The General Stanton Inn Flea Market, one of the Ocean State's oldest, largest and most popular outdoor flea markets. Among the Flea Market finds are antiques, collectibles, crafts, art, new merchandise, Farmers' Market items, and for a second season, an indoor oasis, "Matilda's Daughter" Boutique. This Flea Market, which is open 8a.m.-3p.m., Saturdays, Sundays and Holiday Mondays, through Columbus Day, is especially known for its nautical antiques and furnishings, prized by cottage owners and vacationers alike. The savory smells drifting across the seven, tree-shaded acres of The General Stanton Inn Flea Market from the "Cruisin' Cafe," a popular area food truck parked on site, join the sounds of the salty-sweet Kettle Corn gently popping in one corner and the pleasingly-puckering taste of Del's Lemonade being offered in another corner, making this Flea Market a sensory experience that celebrates the long-awaited arrival of Summer. New vendors are welcome to join The General Stanton Inn Flea Market every weekend (10 x 20- foot spaces range from $20.-35. per day), and non-profit organizations are invited to set up sales and/or information booths during the entire Season for free.  Call 401-364-8888 or 401-364-1818 for further information.  http://www.generalstantoninn.com  The General  Stanton Inn Flea Market is located at 4115 Old Post Rd., Charlestown, RI 02813. Admission is free and there's a $2. parking fee charged on Sundays only.
