The Hive RI Lunch & Learn Series

The Need for Speed

North Kingstown, RI – March 20, 2014: The Hive RI presents Speaking of Success founder, Richard Austin, as the featured speaker in their Thursday Lunch & Learn series on Thursday, March, 27th.  The weekly Thursday Lunch & Learn is an interactive program that features R.I. professionals presenting on various topics with a focus on business development. R.S.V.P is preferred as lunch will be provided. There is a $5 charge.

The “elevator speech” is the traditional form of quickly defining a person, product or service and its promise of value to be delivered. However, with the speed at which modern communication has increased, what does this mean for the traditional “elevator speech”?

Richard Austin will discuss, in detail, whether the “Elevator Speech” is right for the 21st Century, how to identify your product or service’s own perceived benefit, and how to insure that people are listening to you. He will also discuss the traditional “product specification” selling approach versus the “unique perceived benefit” method of client/customer “education”.

Each attendee will be challenged to look at their product or service from the customer’s perspective, develop a 10 second “tag line” or introduction designed to elicit a question from the potential client or customer.  Why does this approach work?  If they are asking a question, you know they’re listening.
