             Wild Weeds Around The Hive

North Kingstown, RI – June 4, 2014: The Hive RI presents Skin Care Therapist Susan Clements as the featured speaker in their weekly Thursday Lunch & Learn program on Thursday, June 12th. The Lunch & Learn series is an interactive program that features R.I. professionals presenting on various topics with a focus on business development.

Weeds are growing in the wild abundance around The Hive RI. But are they truly indigenous? Join Susan Clements for a lunchtime stroll to meet some of the edible and medicinal plants by the waterfall and on the trail of Ryan Park. Susan will discuss:

· How plants grow in communities

· Where plants originally came from and how they landed there

· Invasive species

· Learn some helpful identification reference books

· Identifying common indigenous plants

· Medicinal and edible use of herbs

Susan Clements was the original owner of The Herb Wyfe in Wickford. She is a practicing herbalist and has led numerous apprenticeship programs. Susan shares her love of plants with people at centers around southern New England. Susan’s office, Earth & Ocean Wellness Center, is in Wickford where she sees clients for wellness consultations, holistic skin care, and reflexology.
