Town Asks for Patience During Building Dept. Absences
With two staff members out with medical issues, the town is asking residents to be patient and use online services if possible.

If you’ve called the North Kingstown building department and haven’t gotten a call back, it’s nothing personal.
Two secretarial staff members in the department are out for medical reasons and that leaves the phones unmanned when the building official and building inspector are out in the field.
“It’s going to be touch and go,” said Town Manager Michael Embury. “We’re trying to get some coverage for someone to sit down there and answer the phones, but we’re encouraging people to submit their applications online.”

Embury said the absences will probably last for a couple of weeks and he asked for the public’s patience.

“People need to understand that we’ll get back to them in the order that things come in,” Embury said.
