VIDEO: Langevin Promotes 'Locally-Grown' Lunches for Students

Congressman James Langevin visited Hamilton Elementary School, promoting the state's "Farm to School" program.

Congressman James Langevin made a pit stop at Tuesday morning, promoting the state’s Farm to School initiative.

Flanked by the Unites States Department of Agriculture’s (USDA) Regional Administrator James Arena-DeRosa, Langevin heard from members of the North Kingstown community on the success of the Farm to School program in a round table discussion. Through the program, Patricia Cawley – head of the school district’s food services – buys local produce from in-state growers such as Schartner Farms, Aquidneck Honey and Narrow Lane Orchards.
