Wakefield Man Killed In Motorcycle Accident In North Kingstown

A Wakefield man is dead following injuries he suffered in a motorcycle accident Wednesday.

Richard Bishop, 27, of Wakefield was involved in a single-vehicle accident Wednesday at around 4:10 p.m., suffering severe head trauma and other injuries after being thrown from his bike while taking the southbound exit off Route 403 on to Route 4.

According to the Rhode Island State Police, Bishop was wearing a helmet at the time of the crash. The matter is under investigation but speed appears to be the primary factor.

Bishop was unconscious when emergency responders arrived at the scene. He was pronounced dead at Rhode Island Hospital after transport.
