• RIDOH and DEM Lift Advisory at Lake Mishnock and Recommend Avoiding Contact with Wenscott Reservoir and Oak Swamp Reservoir (ri.gov) — People in North Providence are being urged to avoid all contact with Wenscott Reservoir because of a harmful algae bloom that makes swimming, fishing, and boating risky for people and pets. While Lake Mishnock's advisory was lifted, state health and environmental officials say Wenscott and Johnston's Oak Swamp Reservoir remain off-limits until testing shows the blooms have cleared.
