• North Smithfield School Wells: Where Is PFAS Coming From? (upriseri.com) — North Smithfield's middle and high school campus is managing elevated PFAS in one drinking water well by blending it with cleaner water while awaiting state approval for a permanent filtration system. At a special School Committee meeting, the district's engineer and the Groundwater Protection Committee debated possible sources, including the on-site wastewater leach field and turf debris, and discussed testing nearby private wells and coordinating with the town.
