After hours of traffic debate and objections from a competing gas station, the board added conditions on delivery times and fire review, with final approvals and permits still required before construction begins.

• Potentially rabid bat spotted at Roger Williams Park Zoo (wpri.com) — North Smithfield residents are being reminded about rabies risks as state health officials investigate a potentially rabid bat seen at Roger Williams Park Zoo and note two confirmed rabies cases in town earlier this year. The Health Department urges anyone who may have contacted the bat, or any erratic wild animal, to call state epidemiology lines and keep pets' vaccinations current, as rabies can be fatal if untreated.
